What I was doing was…

And I’m done… no not quite, 2020 was a bloody leap year and 366 days will be up tomorrow so… intending to write a few thousand words of the novel today. Instead I decided to take a few hours to type up the five scenes of the play I came up with last week, and noodle around with them until they flowed okay. I’ve really run out of steam for writing prose right now, maybe it’s the heat, maybe I’m just at a tricksy point in the draft and maybe I’m in need of holiday (I reckon it’s all of those) so I reasoned that I could just spend the day doing whatever I had the will and brainpower to do (turns out not anything that require much thinking). Feeling ready to cross the finish line of my year long challenge tomorrow and also feeling some pride at my play ‘ellamenapea’ getting to the second read of the @papatangotc prize (and some disappointment it didn’t get any further) -congratulations to the shortlisted and winning writers! One more day to go, not sure what I will get up to tomorrow (maybe sitting in a fridge all day?) but whatever it is I am proud to be here doing this one year on.
